Doubling up on lifesaving defibrillators in our towns

9th February 2024
defibrillators installed

We’re pleased to announce the installation of two new defibrillators in and around Newcastle at Fujifilm on Ironmarket and Newcastle Town FC on Lyme Valley Parkway.

The installs have come off the back of our commitment to providing 100 lifesaving defibrillators to people in need across Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Shropshire over the next four years.

We commenced our defibrillator programme in October 2023 when our first AED unit was installed in Uttoxeter. Now we have two new installations across Newcastle-Under-Lyme, the local area is better equipped to offer residents and visitors a critical resource in times of medical emergencies.

Our Newcastle Branch Manager, Rich Czapski, said:

“Newcastle Town FC and Fujifilm are the latest to take advantage of our defibrillator programme, with two new AED units now installed outside their premises. These defibrillators offer people placed locally with critical care equipment in an emergency. I’m extremely proud to be a part of this programme which will see more defibrillators being fitted in and around Newcastle Under Lyme over the coming years.”

Newcastle Town FC’s Operations Manager, Tom Sherratt, said:

“It's great to be able to place a defibrillator at Newcastle Town FC in an area where the club can support the local community. The AED unit will support all activities being held at the main stadium connected to the club, along with being accessible to anyone placed locally. Should the local community and its residents need access to a defibrillator, we're grateful for the support from Leek Building Society to enable our Club to provide such life changing support to people.”

Our Newcastle branch is located on Ironmarket in the town centre, less than 200 yards from where the new AED unit has been installed outside Fujifilm.

Jamie Richards, CEO from AEDdonate, added:

“We thank Fujifilm of Newcastle for hosting the latest AED as part of the Leek Building Society partnership. Together, we can make a significant impact in enhancing community safety and preparedness. This site was registered and live for community use with West Midlands Ambulance Service at the point of installation. We commend Leek Building Society for their commitment to community safety and look forward to working together to achieve our shared objectives.”

Our commitment to install the 100 units was driven by our belief that access to defibrillators can make a significant difference in emergency situations, potentially saving lives.

We’ll continue to make a positive difference to our local communities, and the installation of these defibrillators further demonstrates how we’re doing just that where it matters most.
