If you have a Junior ISA with another provider, a JISA transfer is the process of moving your child’s existing Junior ISA savings to a new provider. When doing so, you'll keep the account’s tax-free status and annual allowance.

We may ask you to provide ID to confirm your name and address. To assist you, we try to verify this electronically in branch. If we’re unable to, we would require your paper documentation instead. We'll need to receive the ID of the trustee and the child.

A Junior ISA, otherwise known as a Junior Cash ISA or simply JISA, is a long-term, tax-efficient way to save or invest for a child under the age of 18.
This type of savings account allows parents or guardians to save up to £9,000 each tax year (2025/26) for their child, without having pay tax on the interest or investment returns earned.
When you open a Junior Cash ISA, the money you deposit is locked away until the child turns 18. Once they reach 18, the Junior ISA automatically converts into an adult ISA, and the money becomes theirs to manage.
A key benefit of a Junior Cash ISA is its tax efficiency. Any interest earned is free from Income Tax, so neither you nor your child will pay tax on their savings. While parents and guardians can contribute, the total amount paid across all Junior ISAs for a child cannot exceed the annual JISA allowance of £9,000 each tax year (2025/26).
