We’re thrilled to announce that Leek Building Society has officially been Certified as a Great Place to Work. This recognition highlights the positive culture, engagement, and sense of belonging that our colleagues experience every day.

Receiving this certification isn’t just a badge or words on a piece of paper; it’s a true reflection of how our people feel about working here and the inclusive, supportive environment we’ve built together. Many companies can say they’re a great place to work, but we can actually prove it.

When we launched our new purpose, ‘Force for Good’, we really wanted to raise the bar on how we measure and deliver the very best employee value proposition. Choosing Great Place to Work is a key component in ensuring we can objectively measure where we’re great - and where we need to improve - against the UK’s best companies in terms of employee experience.

Listening to our colleagues

In September, we invited our colleagues to take part in a survey from Great Place to Work, the global authority on workplace culture. Participating in the survey was completely optional, but it allowed everyone to share their honest views anonymously on what it’s like to work for us.

We were delighted that 82% of our colleagues took part, well above the financial services sector average of 69%. To become certified, organisations need to score at least 65%, and we’re proud to have achieved an impressive 77% overall.
